The Green Clean that Works

If “greening your life” was an eco-resolution on your list for 2009, a great first step is to green your cleaning products. Conventional cleaning products contain carcinogens and skin irritants and their run-off contaminates soil, waterways and other ecosystems. But switching to a DIY vinegar and water solution is not always realistic (nor does it always smell that great). And many of us feel attached and nostalgic to the cleaners we grew up with, so that’s why we’re so excited to see a trusted household name with an entire line of eco-friendly products available nearly everywhere that (and this is the key!) works.

Clorox Greenworks cleaners are made from biodegradable, plant-based ingredients derived from coconuts, essential oils, lemon and corn, and come in a recyclable bottle. With Clorox being the first major company to come out with a line of green cleaners carried in stores like Wal-Mart and Safeway, it means that nearly everyone will now have access to healthy, affordable (the line ranges from $2.99 - $3.59), sustainable products - even in the middle of the country where it didn’t use to be so easy to buy eco-products for a healthy home.
