Once in a Millennium
Date: June 1, 2009 | Category: Events, Lifestyle, Media
This past Saturday ecofabulous joined over 350 guests, celebrity supporters and presenters (including Rosario Dawson, Adrian Grenier, Arianna Huffington, and more) to celebrate the 2009 Global Green Millennium Award Honorees at a fundraising gala in Los Angeles. The Millennium Awards were “designed to honor individuals and organizations who recognize the important connection between humankind and nature, to celebrate their success and inspire others to make such exceptional behavior the norm.” This year, awards were presented to Wallis Annenberg/ The Annenberg Foundation, Jeff Skoll, Marc Nathanson, and ecofabulous’ own Zem Joaquin.
An excerpt from Arianna Huffington’s introduction speech for Zem:
“The incredible gift of Zem is that she actually seduces people into doing the right thing. She actually makes people feel that the right thing is also the fun thing – that you can do the right thing while having a party…. Zem has succeeded in making sustainability sexy, scrumptious, sparkling, splendiferous, and spreading.”
Styled by Vie PR & Showroom and Coco Eco Magazine, Zem received her award in the Elsa Dress by Mr. Larkin, wearing jewelry by Amber Maire Bentley, and Mink Shoes. Hair was styled using eco-friendly products by the incredibly talented Brian Bowman; Make-up by celebrity make-up artist Lina Hanson, author of the new book Eco-Beautiful; Nails by CHI Organic Nail Bar & Spa.
Stay tuned for videos from the Award Dinner and behind-the-scenes footage of Zem getting ready!
