Soaps can contain really nasty stuff. Many bar soaps are made using harsh chemicals, like ethylenediamine tetraacetic acid (aka EDTA) – an amino acid that binds to heavy metals, like mercury. We’re not sure what it’s doing there, but we’re pretty worried about it. The EPA reports that when this stuff gets rinsed down the drain it eventually ends up contaminating our waterways and poisoning the fish we eat. Solution? The easiest way is to go the all-natural route (which solves a host of other toxic dilemmas, too).

I have very dry hands and so do my kids. My kids are always putting their hands in their mouths, I get sick at the thought of all those chemicals going into their mouths and thru their skin. I am going to change today!!!!!!

I’ve stopped using conventional soaps, because it’s horrible for the environment – especially the ocean, where millions of fish and mammals live… The future is now! We can no longer afford to live selfishly, just because it’s cheaper or more convenient! Wake up people! Think of your kids, if not yourself…

We stopped using conventional soap when my husband’s parents came to visit from Genova. His dad used SO MUCH soap that my husband said the white water on the beach was actually his dad’s soap bubbles. Not far from the truth and we’ve made The Change for Better
